Therapy Programs for Students at Spring Creek Lodge Academy

We at Spring Creek Lodge Academy along with Cabinet Mountain Mental Health (CMMH) serve students and parents. A licensed clinical psychologist visits campus twice a month for complete psychological evaluations. CMMH offers following programs:

• Adoption Group Program at Spring Creek Lodge Boarding School: Students’ issues regarding trust, attachment, adoption, and rejection are solved by this group. Students may not feel good when they are adopted by someone. There always remains a hidden gap between the child’s and parent’s thinking. It is very important to bridge that gap, and create happy and unite families.

• Coping up with Anger: Anger is an emotional state which is very natural, but it turns to be devastative when gets out of control. There may be several reasons of anger among students. Students may get aggressive at times when they feel frustrated or find that the situations are not going in the way they want. Training on different methods of controlling anger and aggressiveness is given with the goal to reduce emotional feelings and psychological things causing anger. The reasons behind anger are explored, identified and then cured.

• Chemical Dependency Counseling in Academy at Spring Creek Lodge: Students addicted to drugs and other chemical dependencies are treated. Special interaction is built with the troubled youngsters to know the reasons why they had to adopt this path. Recovery from chemical dependency varies according to the type, amount and duration of chemicals used. Our prime focus is not only to stop the drug use, but also to help an individual return to the earlier state of mind and make him active in family functioning, at workplace and in society.

• Survival of Rape and Sexual Abuse: Anybody can be the victim of sexual abuse and it may lead to depression among students. One starts hating himself/herself and thus is unable to come out of this horrible situation. A supportive environment is provided to the students where they learn to cope with emotional traumas due to sexual crimes.
